Vasodilator and Overstrand must be feared given the merit of their hurdles form, but there are negatives about both, and Circus of Dreams looks the safest option judged on his second over course and distance at the turn of the year.
“Vasodilator is lightly raced, but he was a ready winner of a maiden hurdle at Bangor last April, and he is a contender here judged on that.”
Circus of Dreams has looked hard work on occasions over hurdles, and has been visored of late, he put in his best effort in four tries over fences when second over course and distance in December. He made little impact next time, but this looks a much easier race.
Overstrand is the best of these over hurdles, and ended a long losing run when scoring at Market Rasen in November. He has not been so good on his last two starts, and he failed to convince in two spins over fences back in 2007/8.
Turnworth is a point winner, but has finished last in two maiden chases, admittedly he was not knocked about at Taunton last week. He is likely to need further than two miles to be seen at his best.
Vasodilator is lightly raced, but he was a ready winner of a maiden hurdle at Bangor last April, and he is a contender here judged on that. He stopped quickly on his chase bow (jumped right), however, and he is unproven in the mud.
Simplified is a poor maiden hurdler who looks out of her depth now switched to fences.
