Champion Hurdle Betting: Solwhit drifts to 30 after dirty scope

But halves in price after initial over-reaction subsides

Solwhit drifted to 30.0 on Betfair for the Champion Hurdle immediately after news broke that he scoped dirty this morning and has been put on antibiotics – but the drugs could be working a touch sooner than expected.

The initial betting over-reaction to the news has subsided, and Solwhit appears to have stabilised at the 14.0 mark on Betfair.

Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin commented: “The Champion Hurdle has been one of the most volatile ante-post markets in recent years.

“Solwhit now becomes the fourth horse to deliver favourite backers a potential hammer blow, following the woes, setbacks and defeats that have befallen one-time market-leaders Hurricane Fly, Binocular and Zaynar.”
